![]() Bridal StyleThis look is wedding inspired, and it is created using light, casual but still noticeable makeup. The model chose to wear the rings around her neck instead of on her finger, which I thought was a great idea. A challenge I faced with this photo was getting the right hairstyle for the look. The strongest part of this image is her smile, as it really portrays the happiness a bride would feel. The weakest part is her hair since I didn't have enough time to do something more intricate. | ![]() FlowerI took this image in the beginning of the school year when I was still learning how to use a camera, but it is one of the first photos I took on my own. A challenge that I overcame in this photo was struggling with the camera settings and white balance. The strongest part of this image is the vibrancy of the colours and how clear the flower turned out. The weakest part is the ground around the flower, as I wish I had gotten closer to focus on it more. |

![]() Prom StyleThis look is prom inspired, and it is created by using dark eye makeup, neutral coloured lips, and a gorgeous dress. A challenge I overcame with this photo was getting the right angle with the camera to show off the makeup enough and making sure her hair stayed in place. The strongest part of this photo is that the pop of blue in the eye makeup matched the dress perfectly, and the weakest part is the pose. | ![]() MacroThis image was my Macro shot for one of my earlier assignments, and I just love how it turned out. You can see each individual grain of sand around the shell so clearly! One challenge I overcame was getting the camera to focus on the shell. The strongest part of this image is the clarity of it, and the weakest part is the ring in the sand around the shell. My friend put a bucket over top of it as a joke and I didn't fix the sand after because it was too hard to refocus the lens. |
![]() Casual/Natural StyleThis is my take on a casual/natural look. For this look, highlight and mascara are very important as you want to bring out and enhance your natural beauty. A challenge I faced taking this photo was getting the pose right for the lighting that was being used, as I didn't want too much shadow on her face. The strongest part of this image also happens to be the pose, because it really made the highlight pop and showed off the shirt. The weakest part of this image is the lighting and contrast. | ![]() SmokeI took this photo for my smoke shot in an earlier assignment. It took a lot of patience to take a good shot, as you had to wait till the smoke did something cool or manipulate it yourself. A challenge I overcame was actually the editing of this photo, I couldn't change the colour of the smoke without it looking fake. The strongest part of this image is how clear the pattern of the smoke is, and the weakest part is that I wish I had taken the shot earlier so it would be more in the frame. |
![]() Evening StyleThis evening style look is created using a smokey eye, heavy contour, and nude lips. A challenge I overcame in this photo was that at first the lighting was so dark I could barely see her on camera. One technique I used was having a light facing down on her to really show the angles in her face. The strongest part of this photo is how sharp and clear the image is, and the weakest part is that I had to edit out the clasp of her necklace and it's noticeable if you know it was there. | ![]() GelsThis photo turned out really cool, as I used gels over the lights to create this look. It was for an assignment earlier in the year, and this one was my favourite because of the pose. A challenge that I overcame was that the colours ended too suddenly on her face and I couldn't get the contrast that I wanted. The strongest part of this photo is the severe look the model has and how the lighting just set the mood for it. The weakest part is the outfit, because I wanted it all to be plain white. |
![]() Classic 1940s StyleThis look is 1940s inspired, as women back then would wear winged black eyeliner and a bold red lip. The head band really tied it all together! Getting the right lighting for this photo took some time, but in the end it turned out great and really showed off the smile in her eyes. I'd say the strongest part of this image is the bright, bold red in her shirt, lips and headband. The weakest part is probably the necklace, because even though its pretty it doesn't really go with the look. | ![]() GlasswareThis image was my lightfield glassware assignment, and it turned out really well. I found this old light bulb in a drawer and thought it would be really cool to photograph. A challenge I overcame was that the surface the bulb was on was dirty so I switched it with a black tile and now you can see the reflection which is awesome. The strongest part of this image is the antique feel to it and the clarity, and the weakest part is that the bulb is a little bit dirty and could have been cleaned. |
![]() Punk-Goth StyleThis makeup style is called Punk/Goth, and it is created by using dark, heavy makeup. I actually took this photo by accident but it turned out for the better! A technical challenge I overcame was that I needed more dramatic lighting for the look. The strongest part of this image is definitely the contour and shadows on her. The weakest part also happens to be the shadows because you can't really see her neck. | ![]() WaterdropThis water drop photo was for an assignment I had this semester, and I loved the way the drop hit the water and the how the colours make it stand out even more. A challenge I overcame was editing all the little dark spots and blemishes in the photo. It took a lot of time to do. The strongest part of this image is how clear it turned out, and the perfect timing of it. The weakest part is that it could've been centered in the frame. |
